As the end of the year approaches, we need your support now more than ever! 2020 has brought many challenges with increased need from our communities and the cancellation of our biggest annual fundraiser, both due to COVID. That is why a donation in any amount will make a real impact in our communities.

This conversation with a senior nurse at Mudula Hospital highlights the impact of your support for the provision of lifesaving equipment and training on maternal and infant health. Please read on to see the essential work being done with your donations!

“We were referring cases of simple hypothermia to the nearest hospital due to lack of equipment in our hospital. This used to be a cause for neonatal death cases in our hospital. Thankfully, now, there is no problem after WEEMA provided these essential and lifesaving equipment and training to our hospital”

-Senait Mekonnen, Senior Nurse at Mudula Primary Hospital

Senait works in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Mudula Primary Hospital where she handles delivery, post-natal and emergency units. She remembers the training provided by WEEMA as a pivotal moment for her career as she learned how to use medical equipment needed for neonatal care and resuscitation. “All this equipment such as radiant warmers, incubators and phototherapy machines have made the difference between life and death for many infants. We continue to use and rely on them today!”

Thanks to you, WEEMA is able to reduce infant mortality and improve quality of care for mothers and children in Kembata Tembaro, Ethiopia! We hope you continue this journey with us!
