Meet Gina from WEEMA!
Gina DaCruz joins WEEMA staff as our new Development Manager!
We are thrilled to introduce an amazing new addition to our team! Gina DaCruz, our new Development Manager has joined the US team as staff after serving on WEEMA’s board for over ten years. Gina has been a strong part of WEEMA’s community-led development since its inception as Mudula Water. And, now we’re excited to have Gina’s passion and energy as part of our staff!
In her own words, Gina had the following to say:
“I am excited to take on this new role to help WEEMA grow in order to serve more people in southwestern Ethiopia. I have had the privilege to be a part of building and growing WEEMA. Our mission, vision and values are strong. I am excited to foster and grow new relationships with our passionate and loyal donor community. Our donors have allowed our programs to grow and increase impact in the Kembata Tembaro region which is why I am confident in the abundance of our collective generosity to serve even more people in these communities. My deep knowledge of WEEMA has shown me the potential for growth, and it is my mission to foster this growth. I have been to Ethiopia several times, visited programs, and have seen first hand the amazing transformative power of our holistic programs in the KT region. Our team in Ethiopia is amazing and it’s my honor to serve as a support to such an incredible team.”
Outside of her new role at WEEMA, Gina is a mixed media artist, mom to two amazing kids and advocate for social justice for all! She’s a lover of coffee, tea and describes herself as “an avid thrift shopper” who loves bringing old items back to life!
