Mobile Library Service: Creatively increasing access to resources!

Degale Public Library serves thousands of people in the community.  However, some schools in Tembaro are far from the library. So to ensure these students get access to the free resources available at the library, we had to get creative.  Working with the community, we came up with the “Mobile Library Service”. 

Librarians and teachers request books from the library staff. We transport the books from the library to the respective schools. Then, the books are circulated to other schools as needed before they are returned to Degale. 

Students and teachers who have used this service had the following to say:

“If WEEMA didn’t didn't support our school in this mobile library service, our school wouldn’t have the capacity to access different reference books, so thank you WEEMA.”
